Sports is the most essential part of any college. S.A.C. being at the core of the institute, actively conducts plethora of events every year. We witness huge participation with attractive prizes and great talents.

MENTORSHIP DRIVE


2 August, 5 August, 8 August
With the pandemic taking a toll on the lives of everyone, students were in a tight spot. Quite obviously, insecurities about the future started creeping in. Hence the Sports Mentorship and Adventure Club, SMAC BIT Mesra decided to conduct a Mentorship Drive Program wherein students can get the answers of the questions that they are stuck in. Captain Dharamveer Singh gave an insight into the army life and how students can apply for it and make a good career. Also, our very own seniors were a part of the program and they untangled the mess and motivated us to use this lockdown to prepare ourselves for the better. It was truly an inspiring program that was conducted amidst the lockdown.

PLAYERA

12 August - 22 August
The event of Play Era consisted of respective events, namely:
1) PUBG Mobile : It was an online multiplayer game which requires a great level of consciousness and mental strength. Interested pals participated solo to compete with each other and show their tactical the event was conducted in three rounds after every round the smartest were short listed and the one with the finest brain conquered.
2) 8 Ball Pool :
3) Tacticians:It was an online fun event organized for the enthusiastic football lovers. Participants played in a team of one to three and showcased their knowledge of football and analysis power. The event was conducted in two rounds, first round was an independent round in which participants had to show their analysis powers to answer few questions and the sharpest minds were shortlisted. In final round they competed one on one and the true football fan won.
4) 22 Yard Quiz: It was an online fun event organized for the enthusiastic cricket lovers. Participants competed in the team of three to showcase their enthusiasm towards cricket. The event was conducted in 5 rounds in which in every round teams competed one on one and asked questions to each other, the team with highest combined cricket knowledge won.

SAC's FANTASY LEAGUE

11 Sept - 23 Sept
Fantasy football is a game that casts you in the role of a Fantasy Manager, given the task to pick a squad of real-life players who score points for your team based on their real-life performances in their matches. You are awarded points if the player you choose performs on pitch. The event spans for 38 weeks. After the season is over the participant with the highest points in the leaderboard is declared winner. Objective: To make people enjoy through a popular competitive e- sport.

DUGOUT

During these unprecedented and challenging times where being locked in our homes without friends had become the new normal , when everyone was running out of options for entertainment, the BCCI brought lots of joy in every household when they announced the commencement of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League from 19th of September2020 in UAE. As the world’s best most spectacular cricketing league was finally about to begin, SMAC came forth with its annual IPL event DUGOUT. It was an opportunity for all the cricket enthusiasts to predict, analyze and have some fun with their buddies. The event consisted of two rounds. For the first round, everyone was provided with questions on alternate days on our social media pages, and the participants were expected to answer them before the first ball was bowled. The top contestants qualified for the next round scheduled in the IPL playoffs where they had to form their own teams on Dream 11 and were judged as per the Official Fantasy League Rules.

COMMAND AND CONQUER, VALORANT

29 Jan - 31 Jan
DESCRIPTION: An online e-sports event, featuring the upcoming fps shooter VALORANT, Command and Conquer was held by SMAC to promote the online version of competitive sports, E-Sports in our college campus. It was held over a weekend in January with 16 teams participating in a single elimination bracket amongst which Team Zion from k20 batch secured the win. Objective: To increase the awareness and prominence of e-sports in the college campus.

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?

10 - 11 April
When we look back over the history of football, it’s never truly the realities of matches or seasons that we remember. It’s the individual moments, the last-minute winners, the touches of transcendent quality, the disallowed goals and the shock incidents that we reminiscence. What Happened Next was an exhilarating event filled with passion for all such football enthusiasts who live for the moments. The event consisted of two rounds. Both the rounds were quizzes on football consisting of all kinds questions—textual, image based and video based. All the participants were divided into group of 5 for Round-1 and the best performers amongst them qualified for Round-2. These teams then faced off against each other in Round-2 to decide the winner.
